Swedish design

The impulse for the museum stool, originally, was given by the National Museum in Stockholm. They needed a stable, light and foldable sitting aid for their visitors. Such a product they had – in vain – been looking for, on the market, for a long time. Hans Ehrich from A&E Design AB, immediately, saw a possibility to create a folding stool with the requested qualities, and accepted the challenge ! The result was the museum folding stool “Stockholm II”. As manufacturer of the stool, the Lectus company in Mönsterås was chosen, which, since 1995, has the exclusive rights to produce the complete range of “Stockholm II”- products.

The fact that this folding stool is not only regarded as useful and efficient, but also has significant aesthetic qualities, is proved by the circumstance that it is also part of the permanent collections of many museums. Repeatedly, we have heard from directors of museums that they are very satisfied with this product – or, as the director of a foreign museum once said to us : “Our visitors demand that we provide them with “Stockholm II”-folding stools !”
